For Non-believers Only
So what are the arguments for a belief in God? Why is it that millions of people believe in an entity when there is no solid proof that He exists? Many of these people of course are well above average intelligence and could never be described as gullible. Apart from the many divisions of the Christian religion, Islam teaches belief in the same God. Surely even the most sceptical, must confess that any such belief must have some foundation to be adopted by over half the world's population.
It's also an attractive proposition that there is someone to whom we can turn in times of need, with whom we can share our innermost thoughts and who can guide us along the difficult path we tread throughout our lives
This belief in God also entails acceptance of some fundamental and simple rules to follow - it's not enough to be able to talk the talk unless you can walk the walk. The rules may be simple and basic, but following these principles is far from easy. Nothing in this life really worth having comes easy though, the real prizes involve a lot of hard work one way or another.
So what's the purpose of it all? Why are we put on this planet? Serving God and following Jesus' teachings provides a purpose to our lives, through which we can find fulfilment. In the words of Bob Dylan, "You gotta serve somebody, it might be the devil or it may be the Lord, but you gotta serve somebody."
This page provides a number of links to separate arguments which all serve to support a belief in God. Even if there's doubt about some of the points raised, together, all of the issues raised surely call for an alternative cohesive explanation to a belief in God. Any of these links can be followed in any order, the destination is the same.
